Yahoo’s Bartz wants more media cynicism of Google
Yahoo CEO Carol Bartz, known for her often blunt and occasionally expletive-laden interviews, didn’t disappoint during Tuesday’s news conference announcing a new $100 million brand campaign.

Late in the session, she used a reporter’s question that boiled down to “Is the media too obsessed with change at Yahoo” to tee off onto a broader critique of what she portrayed as unfair coverage of her company and less-than-skeptical reporting on its nemesis:
“When you get outside of New York City and Silicon Valley, everybody loves Yahoo. … You get 30 miles outside the business press, and 30 miles outside Silicon Valley and they’re fine.
“I just want to transplant all you guys out of this sort of cynicism you’re in. I mean, why are you cynical about us Be cynical about frickin’ Google. Leave us alone.
“If you don’t like us, just leave us alone, we’ll just deal with our users, because you know what We do great things for them and we’re excited about what we are.
“See you got it, you got me pissed off.”
